（県南）仙北市白岩地域／Shiraiwa Area, Semboku City

400年以上も歴史のある、祖先の供養と五穀豊穣を祈願する仙北市白岩地域の盆行事「ささら舞」が行われました。
獅子頭をかぶった三人が腰に下げた太鼓を打ち鳴らし、笛の音に乗って躍動感溢れる舞を披露しました。「ザッザカ」と呼ばれるひょっとこ面を着けた道化役は、束ねた木を擦って音を出す打楽器を鳴らし、おどけながら踊りました。

The Sasaramai is a Bon Festival event in the Shiraiwa area of Semboku City, which has a history of more than 400 years. It is held to pray for the repose of ancestors and a good harvest.
Three men wearing lion's heads beat drums tied on their waists and performed an energetic dance to the sound of a flute. The clown, wearing a "zazzaka" mask, played a percussion instrument made by bundles of wood rubbed to produce sounds and danced humorously.

休憩中、獅子頭を着け直します

今年は、小学生の子どもたちによる「子どもささら」も同地域にある雲巌寺で披露されました。地域の伝統を受け継ぐ姿を大人たちに見守られてやり遂げました。

This year, elementary school children also performed "Kodomo (Kids) Sasara" at Ungan-ji Temple in the same area. The adults watched as the children performed to carry on the traditions of local community.
