（県北）三種町 宮ノ目地域／Miyanome Area, Mitane Town

三種町を流れる三種川の中流域の下岩川地域と上流域の上岩川地域で採れた特別栽培米を、地域ブランド米「岩川水系米」と呼んでいます。「宮ノ目地域を含むこの地域で採れた米は、古くからうまいと言われている」と農業組合法人宮中の板倉英司代表が教えてくれました。
Specially cultivated rice grown in the Lower Iwakawa area in the middle reaches and the Upper Iwakawa area in the upper reaches of the Mitane River that flows through the town of Mitane is called "Iwakawasuikeimai," a local brand of rice. Mr. Eiji Itakura, representative of the Miyanaka Agricultural Corporation, told us, "Rice from this region, including the Miyanome area, has long been praised as delicious.
今夏は、日本海側が豪雨に見舞われ、三種川氾濫により、宮ノ目地域の一部も被害に遭いました。同じ地域内であっても泥水を被り茶色く変色した稲もあれば、被害がなく実入りが順調で頭が垂れ下がる稲もあり、自然の猛威を目の当たりにしました。
This summer, the Sea of Japan side of the country was hit by torrential rains, and parts of the Miyanome area were also damaged by the flooding of the Mikane River. Even within the same area, some rice plants were covered with muddy water and turned brown, while others were undamaged and the heads of the rice plants hung down, showing the fury of nature.
