（県央）潟上市草木谷地域 / Kusakidani Area, Katagami City

潟上市の草木谷地域で、大豊小学校5年生33人が10月21日、脱穀体験を行いました。

On October 21, 33 fifth graders from Otoyo Elementary School experienced threshing rice in the Kusakidani area of Katagami City.

草木谷で田植えから稲刈り、脱穀、餅つきなどを体験する「田んぼの楽校」は、なんと今年で15年目。子どもたちは「脱穀機に稲が引っ張られる！」「大変だけど楽しい！」と笑顔いっぱい・元気いっぱいに話していました。こうして米づくりを経験した子どもが大きくなって、地域で農業を始めるという事例もあり、地域の魅力を伝える大切な行事となっています。

This was the 15th year for the "Rice Paddy School" in Kusakidani! Students experienced rice planting, harvesting, threshing, and rice cake pounding there. "The threshing machine pulls my rice!” and “It's hard work but fun,” the children said, full of smiles and energy. In the past, some people who experienced rice farming as children in this way have grown up and started farming in the community, which makes it an important event that conveys the charm of the community.

脱穀後の稲わらは、秋田市の大森山動物園にゾウの餌として提供、代わりにゾウのフンを来年の田んぼの肥やしとして使用します。
