（県北）北秋田市 阿仁小様地域／Anikozama Area, Kita-Akita City

阿仁小様地域の渓谷の流れが聞こえる棚田の上で、築120年の古民家（写真中央の家）を再生しているご夫婦がいました。５年前、ご主人がマタギに興味があり、県外から北秋田市に移住。今ではマタギグループの一員になって活動中です。現在は、他地域でサツマイモを栽培し焼き芋販売をしていますが、来春からここに住み、築200年を目指したい、サツマイモ栽培を継続して新たなメニューに取り組みたいと夢を話してくれました。
On a terraced rice field where you can hear the valley stream in the Anikozama area, there is a couple who are renovating a 120-year-old private house (house in the center of the photo). 5 years ago, the husband moved from outside the prefecture to Kitaakita City because he was interested in matagi (bear hunting tradition). They are now a member of a matagi group and are active in this field. Currently, they grow sweet potatoes and sell baked potatoes in other areas, but they told us of their dream to live here starting next spring, to make the house last for 200 years, and to continue growing sweet potatoes and work on a new item.

木村夫妻の新居から１kmほど離れた場所にある京谷栗園。毎年、大粒の栗を１トンほど収穫しており、地元の直売所「四季美館」で販売しているそうです。写真は代表の京谷さん。サツマイモと栗で何かできそうな気がしました。
ご夫婦には仲間や住民との繋がりも増えているようで、阿仁小様地域で新しい取り組みが動き出しそうに感じました。
The couple seems to be making more connections with friends and residents, and we felt that new projects are about to begin in the Anikozama area.
