（県央）秋田市 鵜養地域／Uyashinai Area,Akita City

秋田市街地から車で約30分。「堰（せき）のある風景」として有名な、河辺の鵜養（うやしない）地域を訪れました。
About a 30-minute drive from Akita City’s central residential area is Uyashinai in the Kawabe area, known for its “scenery with weirs.”
鵜養では、農業用水・生活用水の取水のために集落内に張り巡らされている堰を、住民間で管理しています。野菜の土を落としたり、農作業道具を洗ったり、農家の皆さんにとって欠かせない水路です。
In Uyashinai, local residents autonomously manage the weirs that are spread throughout the villages, where they collect water for both agriculture and domestic use. People wash the dirt off vegetables and farming tools there – it is a dispensable waterway for the local farmers.
秋田県のちょうど中心地（へそ）にある辺祖（へそ）公園の展望台からは、広葉樹と針葉樹が織りなす色とりどりの紅葉も堪能できました。
The “Heso Koen” (Park) is located in the center of Akita Prefecture. “Heso” (also means “belly button”) is a Japanese expression we use to describe the word, “center.” Its observation deck affords an excellent view of colorful foliage of broadleaf and coniferous trees.
