（県南）仙北市 白岩地域 / Shiraiwa Area,Semboku City

10月、仙北市白岩地域で「白岩堤水抜き大作戦」が行われました。
白岩焼が有名な地域ですが、活動場所はその粘土採掘跡に地下水が湧き出し形成された湧水池です。
In October, the “Shiraiwa Dike Drainage Project” was held in the Shiraiwa area of Semboku City.
This area is known for the Shiraiwa ware. The activity was held in a spring pond formed by groundwater gushing out in a clay pit for the ceramic ware.
活動では荒廃が著しい湧水池の再生として、景観面や貴重な生態系を保全するために水面を覆う雑草を取り除きました。
来年にかけ多様な保全活動を展開し、住民や来訪者の憩いの場、また観光スポットとする構想を地域で考えています。活動に参加した地域外住民と地域住民が堤に託す夢も語り合いました。
The activities aimed for the restoration of a severely ruined spring pond and included removing weeds that cover the water surface to preserve the landscape and precious eco-system of the area.
Over the next year, they are planning on developing a variety of conservation activity and considering the concept of turning the area into a resting place and a tourist attraction for local residents and visitors.
