里山の美しい田園風景が広がる谷地田地域を見下ろすように、この地域にとってなくてはならない“堂ノ下神社”（嘉永2年建立）があります。急勾配で長い階段の先にあり、深い緑に包まれた神社は、厳かな空気が流れているような感じがしました。
A beautiful pastoral terrain of Satoyama (a mountain village) spreads in Yachita area. There, Donoshita shrine (founded in 1849) is an irreplaceable place for the local people. The shrine is located at the end of a long, steep staircase, and surrounded by rich greenery, creating a solemn atmosphere.
またこの地域の課題（過疎・高齢化）を解決しようと立ち上げた、お互いさまスーパー「みせっこあさみない」は4月で2周年を迎えました。店内には日用品や食料品のほか、食事ができるスペースもあります。
There are growing concerns over the declining and aging population in this community as well. Aiming to tackle such issues, a market called “Otgaisama Super Misekko Asaminai” (The-thanks-is-mutual Market, Our Little Shop Asaminai) was established in April 2016. You can find everyday items and groceries as well as an eat-in space there.
